General Meetings are held at the First Presbyterian Church, located at 430 S Carancahua St, Corpus Christi, TX 78401.
Lighted parking is located in the south parking lot.
When we meet
General Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month, from September to April of every year. We start our meetings at 7:00 pm and typically end about 8:15 pm
what we talk about
Topics range always focus on some aspect of Coastal Bend history, whether it’s local or regional. We enjoy speakers who cover South Texas topics that include family histories, area ranching and farming, and other diverse topics.

We are teachers, engineers, business owners, retirees, military veterans, judges, professors, and other persons who have a desire to spend time with others who enjoy learning about our South Texas past.

Gaby Hadyka
“Hidden in Plain View ~ A Secret Story of Quilts and the Underground Railroad”
Gabrielle Smith Hadyka “Gaby” lives in Corpus Christi. She has two sons, one daughter and seven grandchildren. Gaby retired from First Data. After her husband passed away, she went to work as the office manager for a personal training and nutrition facility.
Gaby grew up in several places as her father was in the Navy. Her husband was in the Air Force, stationed with the Army Special Forces. She attended Texas A&M-College Station, received a BS at CCSU and MBA at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. She is a member of 23 lineage societies holding office and chairs in many of them: DAR Magazine, South Central Division Vice Chair; TXDAR DAR Good Citizens, Chair; Honorary Regent Corpus Christi Chapter NSDAR; Corpus Christi Chapter, Corresponding Secretary; Past State Librarian, Past State Registrar and Past State Recording Secretary; Texas Hill Country Chapter XXXVI CDA, Registrar; Texas Hood’s Brigade, Corresponding Secretary; Old Bayview Chapter USD 1812, Registrar; Texas Society SDA, State Chaplain and Past National President, South Texas Chapter SDA, Treasurer and Newsletter Editor, NSDCH. Being involved in genealogy has instilled an interest in all aspects of our state and national history.
